Training Highly Skilled Medical Professionals

The aim is to graduate a cadre of high-quality medical professionals equipped with healthcare skills that enable them to effectively participate in delivering therapeutic and preventive health services to the community.

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to work under a physician’s supervision in hospitals or independently in health centers and primary healthcare units within their scope of practice.
  2. Perform administrative tasks in health centers and supervised healthcare units within the geographic boundaries of these centers.
  3. Train as skilled medical assistants who collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  4. Conduct evaluations and diagnoses for individuals, families, groups, and communities within their practice scope, forming the basis for planning, delivering, and assessing care.
  5. Exhibit effective communication and collaboration skills with patients and professional teams to enhance healthcare outcomes.
  6. Perform patient health assessments.
  7. Request basic laboratory tests and necessary imaging studies for common conditions (urine, stool, CBC, chest X-rays, bone X-rays).
  8. Provide preliminary and/or final diagnoses within their scope of practice.
  9. Manage and/or refer patients for specialized care.
  10. Administer first aid, including wound management, bleeding control, burn treatment, and handling paralysis or fractures.
  11. Assist with immunization tasks (education, vaccine provision, etc.).
  12. Engage in improving reproductive health and nutrition within the community.
  13. Participate in combating communicable and non-communicable diseases.

This structured program aims to create a skilled workforce capable of meeting the community’s healthcare needs effectively and efficiently.

The Gulf of Aden International University has laboratories that contain models that simulate reality and meet the understanding of human anatomy… as well as enabling students to apply in the most prestigious hospitals through the relationships linked between hospitals and the university. The Medical Assistant Department is one of the important departments at the Gulf of Aden International University. The study system in it is three years, during which the student acquires scientific and practical skills that enable them to perform their work with distinction.

The presence of a qualified staff with experience and qualifications in various medical specialties, holding doctorates, masters and bachelors degrees.
